About
I built this because buying a car nearly broke me.
Not the money. The lying. WorthRide is the car site I wish I'd had, and it is completely free to use.
A little while ago I set out to buy a used car. I figured it would take a weekend. Instead it turned into weeks of the worst kind of shopping: listings with stock photos hiding the real condition, prices that changed the moment I showed up, and sellers who got cagey the second I asked a straight question.
I ran into outright scams. Deposit-first "hold it for you" messages. At least one car whose story did not add up and may well have been stolen. People who would not show a title, would not give me a VIN, and would not put a number in writing. By the end I did not trust anyone, and I am reasonably careful. I kept thinking about everyone who is not, or who does not have time to become an expert just to avoid getting robbed.
So I built WorthRide. The idea is simple: find a dealer who is actually honest, put their real cars online with the real VIN and the real photos, and hand every buyer the free public tools to verify the car themselves before they ever drive out. No stock imagery, no bait prices, nothing hidden.
It is completely free to use. There is no account, no membership, and no fee of any kind for buyers. You pay the exact same price the dealer would quote you walking in off the street, nothing added, nothing hidden in the middle. WorthRide is paid a flat referral fee by the dealer, only when a deal closes, so I have no reason to push you toward anything. I am not your agent and I am not a dealership. You buy from the licensed dealer directly. I just make the honest option easy to find.
I will not pretend I built this for free. I live in Houston, and when the dealer pays that referral fee, I want buyers who came through WorthRide to see some of it too, not just me. So once your purchase closes and that fee actually lands, I personally send you $50, no strings, as a thank-you for trusting a stranger's website with something this big. See disclosures for the exact terms.
Houston is one of the most linguistically diverse cities in the country, and a car is one of the biggest purchases most families make, often in a second or third language, under the same pressure I felt. That is why WorthRide reads in Español and Tiếng Việt as well as English, not as an afterthought bolted on later, but because leaving that gap unclosed would defeat the point of building something more honest in the first place.
Built by Kevin Trinh, under Atarla. WorthRide is proof of what that studio builds: real software for people the big platforms price out, not a pitch deck. See partner with us if that's you.
Principles
What WorthRide will and will not do
Free for buyers, always
You never pay WorthRide a cent. The dealer pays us a flat referral fee only when we send them a buyer who closes. That is the entire business model, and it means we are on your side.
Real cars, real VINs, real photos
Every listing uses the dealer's own photos and the exact VIN, and links you to the free government records so you can check for theft, salvage, and recalls yourself in two minutes.
One dealer we actually vetted
Right now WorthRide lists a single licensed Houston dealer, Lone Star Motor Co. We would rather do one honest dealer well than fill the site with lots we have never checked.
We are not your agent
We do not negotiate for you, take your deposit, or broker your loan. You buy from and take delivery from the licensed dealer. We handle search, comparison, and verification, then get out of the way.
